Aloha dear Pat.......Aaah, good news is always a delight in the early morning hours...or anytime for that matter!! Having your surgery behind you and being on the mend is the BEST NEWS!! I'm so glad that you have helpers to be with you during your healing process.

I'm curious. What did they do exactly? How will it effect your life that is different from before surgery?

Have a wonderful, peaceful, grateful day......

With so much aloha,

Maui Karen

Hi Karen - thanks for your good thoughts.

In Sept. 1990 I had a total R hip replacement.  Last year the surgeon noticed some wearing of the plastic hip socket -- this year it was really bad and he told me we needed to get it fixed.   So he went into
the same incision (altho' this time it was only six inches, not 18 like the original), took out the old socket and cleaned up the area and replaced the socket with a new "hi tech" one....he also replaced the titanium ball that the hip rotates on.  That's it in a nut shell.  I think
the fact I am 100 lbs lighter made a big difference in recovery and mobility.....

Hopefully when the foot nerve is healed I will be able to walk much better.

I am so happy to hear that your are now "high-tech", bionic woman!! I'm hoping that this is a total success and you can walk like you did when you were 30!!

Thanks for filling in the details.

Aloha nui loa,

Welcome home Pat,

You sound good. Getting home and into clothes always feels better than sitting in a hospital bed. Be a lady of leisure and don't over do.

Hi Pat,
So glad you are doing well and feeling strong enough to give us an update.  It's always nice to know folks are recovering nicely.

Never heard of "drop foot syndrome"......I sure hope it is not painful for you and that it doesn't last too long.

Take good care of yourself, get plenty of rest so you can heal quickly.
